Sample Receptionist - Shrewsbury

ALcontrol Laboratories is the largest food testing company in the UK with locations in The Netherlands, Sweden, France and Germany. The business is very successful and is expanding rapidly. Alcontrol Food operates from 6 sites in UK & Ireland and offers a wide range of analytical services to food manufacturers throughout the UK. & Ireland.

We are currently inviting applications for a Laboratory Technician, to work within the Sample Reception area at our Food Laboratory in Shrewsbury.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receiving and logging client samples as they arrive on site.

• Weighing/ preparation of samples.

• Working to tight deadlines.

• Client liaison as and when required.

• Input data on to the laboratory computer system (LIMS)

• Conforming to Health and Safety procedures

Experience/ Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a GCSE science qualification, or equivalent. No experience is required as full training will be given. Confident in using computer based systems including Microsoft Office, with highly accurate typing skills. Candidates must have excellent communication skills as they will have frequent contact with our clients. An eye for detail, methodical approach and ability to work on your own initiative are essential within this role. Familiarity of working in a laboratory environment would be beneficial.

A flexible approach to working hours is required the role will be working 30 hours per week, 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
